and mulching. Please come out and join us as we need all the help we can get. Bring gloves.

We will start Monday, morning Jan.7th @ 9:00 am. This is a perfect way to start the New Year.

Happy New Year, 2008 is gonna be GREAT in Sandy Springs.

URGENT NOTICE: To all SS Residents from Trees SS

Due to the drought and very hot weather all our trees are under extreme
stress. Please water your trees, and be sure to mulch all your trees.
Proper mulching techniques: 1.Leave 2 inches at the tree trunk base free
of mulch 2. Think wide, not deep, 2 to 4 inches deep, and mulch out to the
trees drip line, or beyond.

Trees Sandy Springs will have a booth at thr SS Festival Sept. 15 and 16.
Please stop by to see us and sign up for volunteer projects. Our Trees need you.

Thanks,
Nina Human Cramer

Trees Sandy Springs Report 9/10/2007
On Sunday 9/10 we began spreading mulch at North Fulton Tennis Center on Abernathy.
Most of the trees there are older than 5 years and seem to be in fair condition, however there
was no mulch anywhere. With fresh mulch, the trees will survive this extended drought easier,
and the mulch looks nice and will keep the moisture in the ground when it finally does rain.
Our local weather forecast calls for rain this week, let's all say a prayer it's correct.

We completed the job at Heritage Sandy Springs over the weekend, and it looks great.
All the trees we watered and mulched are located in the new theater area of the park.
The trees are happier and we all enjoyed working together.
Many thanks to our volunteers, Big Trees Forest Preserve, for loaning us the mulch buckets,
and Caldwell Tree Company for delivering the mulch.
The AJC came out and took photos and I think the article will be in the
Northside Section of the AJC on September 13th.
Thanks for your support, Nina Cramer

Trees SS Report Sat. 8/25 & Sunday 8/26

We pulled weeds and mulched 27 young trees @ SS Middle School.

On Sunday we mulched 10 oak trees and 7 maples at the corner of

Cliffwood and SS Circle.  All 44 trees were young and in danger of dying.

Then we were blessed with a little rain. Please check our posts for upcoming

projects. Thank You, Nina Cramer,
